Caroline was the daughter of Hermann Johann Wilmes and Anna Gesina Aleid Seipen of Hestrup. Her god parents at baptism were Anna Gesina Lau and Meinard Mirscher. She also had two other children that died young in Hestrup in 1845 and 1851. She died of malaria fever with funeral from St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on 16 Jul 1878.
