Thanks for the reference!
Parents removed for Mary Fugate; did some merges and fix-up around those families.
There seems to be some controversy about Mary's husband; it seems there are conflicting French & English parents proposed.
Currently left them as two different spouses ... and children to sort out ... (and probably thus two different Mary's or Maryann's).
Captain Josiah Fugate, son of James
vs.
Captain Josias Fugate
Here is a potential third spouse (or a duplicate of one of them)
Captain Josiah Fugate, son of James
I saw the curator note on this and thought this info might help.
There is a this Capt. Josias Fugate and there is a Capt. Josiah Fugate who has the other parents, different wife and different children:
The names Josias and Josiah are where the confusion has come in and people trying to mesh the two family branches together because of that.
They aren't duplicates. They are different men, born different times, etc.
Josiah was born abt. 1740 in Orange County VA and died March 18, 1824 in Ralls County, Missouri, United States
Josias of this profile was born abt. 1688 in King George, King George County, Virginia and died before March 18, 1757 in VA.
When you put them side-by-side, nothing about them matches to cause the confusion.
"On Geni the 2 profiles (hunsband of Mary MARTIN) have the same details and they fit with the timeline of their parents. "
This is no evidence. People copy what they find on the web. Only records can tell the truth.
Mary Martin might be Josias wife, and might be not. Where is the evidence?
And she is definately not the child of Francis Martin and Humphry Lansdale. That is a fact which can be proven.
