If you reach a point where you are told that you cannot assign parents because it will split the tree, then you can request assistance from a curator on this public discussion: https://www.geni.com/discussions/156925

Go to the end (last page) of the discussion, and post a "reply" (ie request) with a link to the profile you need help with (ie the Geni URL of the person's profile page) - and what you would like a curator to do. You can look back through previous posts on the discussion thread to get an idea of how to word your request.

It can take 24 hours to get a response, but I've always been helped.
