Hi all,
My family came originally from Orla, just outside of Bielsk Podlaski, in todays Podlaskie (then Grodno Gubernia, Russian Pole)
When my ancestors were in Orla, Jews were barred from Bielsk P., and in the 1800's when they were allowed to go there, they moved there.
My family name was Meischorer/Misherer. My great-great grandfather was Itzhak Leib Meischorer/Misherer. His grave, which may or may not still be intact, said "Itzhak Arieh Meischorer HaLevi." I know his mother's surname was Szachnowsk. Itzhak had 7 children, Morris (my great grandpa), Chaya, Misha, Pesia, Golda, Zatke, and Abraham. Zatke died as a baby and all but Chaya and Morris were killed in Treblinka. The mother, Zisel, (not the mother of Abraham and Zatke, they had an unknown mother) was killed in 1941 in Bielsk P. If this is familiar contact me please.
