This is the same city that sister Emma was born in a year earlier. Three years later the family was in St Petersburg and the remaining 5 children were born there starting with Theodor "Adolf".

What I am missing is the brother (your father) to Gerda! Perhaps you can help fill in missing information I do not have of this link? Please advise, if you can, who your father is?

Unfortunately Olga & Hedwig passed away early in life. Adolf married Charlotta Franziska Amalie Erlenbach and emigrated with a 6 month old to Argentina at age 30. Adolf came back once apparently to see his mother just 6 months before she passed away. He departed to return to Buenos Aires on 28 July 1921 his mother Anna passed away in Feb 1922. Wilhelm married and died in Leningrad, Russia his wife survived him her name was Olga Albertovna (unknown Maiden name) Elben. This is according to a will filed by her attorney on his estate.
Alfred is a mystery that I can find no marriage or end to.
My interest is in finding possible connections that continued in Argentina since there were Brofft's that emigrated in the mid to late 1800's to the same part of the country and they are still there today as Pharmacists. Did the two families keep in touch as was historically done once bonded?

Her are some answers to some of the questions and confusions.

Gustav Carl Wilhelm's children were:

Emma born Nov 21 1863 in ST Petersburg , Russia - died Feb. 21 1863 Oberhambach Germany

She married Nov 15.1883 Peter Heinrich von Witt in St Petersburg

They had 3 children

Robert (my grandfather) born in Pau, ( he is the only one not born in St Petersburg, as my great grand parents did a spa vacation in Pau at that time) France Dec 13 1864 died Sep 9, 1945 in Berlin

He married June 26 1895 Anna Katharina Schroeder (my grandmother)
They had 5 children , one of which is my father

Adolf Theodor was born May 11 1867 in St Peterburg died April 22 in 1928 in Buenos Aires.
Was married twice first with Charlotte Amalie Erlenbach 0n October 7, 1888 in Frankfurt.
They had one child

second marriage was with Auguste Studt September 22 , 1896 in Berlin
They had 6 children , all born in Argentina except Erwin and Nora.

Erwin was born in Berlin, Wilhelm, Amalie, and Electra in Cordoba, Argentina and Robert in Rosario Argentina and Nora in Reinickendorf , Germany

I do have the information on their children as well but nothing more about the next generation. Effort to track done the living generation in Argentina failed so far.

The fourth child of Wilhelm and Emma Elben was
Wilhelm Elben born Feb. 18, 1870 died 1. quarter of 1919.
Married June 27 1896 Olga Revillon in St Petersburg (Olga was born Feb 10 1877 in St.petersburg and died in 1936) By the way her father was Albert Revillon an ingeniuer in St. Petersburg, hence her name Oga Albertovna (Olga from Albert)

They had 5 daughters and one son Wilhelm, all born in St.Petersburg. Wilhelm and his children adopted Russian citizenship.
We know that some of them and their children died during the second world war during the German occupation of St.Petersburg. One of these sad examples where members of the same family fought against each other!

There are some relatives still living in Russia today but I do not have a detailed knowledge.

The fifth child was Olga born October 17 1874 died Nov 11 1885

The sixth child is Hedwig born Sept. 30 1876 also in St. Petersburg died May 18 1883

The seventh child is Alfred born Nov 15 1877 died Dec 09 1955 in Jugenheim Germany. He was married twice with first
Margarita von Greim-Nilsky 1902 in St Petersburg . They had two children.

Margarita and Alexander. I had the previllage to get to know Margarita (nickname Nicky) several times, while she was still alive. She died in 1989 in Hamburg. Her children and grandchildren live in Switzerland, UK and Germany.

The Argentine part for me is also interesting because I am sure there will be young generations existing nowadays in Argentina. By the way my father told me Alfred had to leave Russia because he had some affair with a woman and started as a cowboy for Libbys in Argentina?

The reason why you saw sometimes Stuttgart instead of St Petersburg as the birthplace is the following: A lot of the family in formation was written up in the 30 and 40, partly during the NAZI regimen in Germany. In those days it sounded better when you were born in Germany and at the end of the war they kept the birthday Stuttgart in fear of the approaching Russians. My father e.g. had also a passport that said that he was born in Stuttgart but he was clearly born in St. Petersburg.

I have two children, Andreas , born 1986 in Somerville, NJ and my daughter Sandra born 1984 in Wiesbaden, Germany. Both my children live in Germany
