I checked the gravestones of R' Shlomo Tzvi's family, in Karcag, The ones that use Latin letters spell the family name as "Schück". I also checked the way he signed his name in official records, and he spelled it the some way, although apparently he sometimes omitted the umlaut (dots) over the "u".

We use accents in Hungarian language.
I was born in Karcag, then I lived a in very near little town. I could see the Schück family' tombstones many times. My parents are buried in the same cemetery. I have an old picture about the Schück family. It was published by Mose Hersko, in his book about the Jewry of Karcag,

Thanks! I have the book written by Hersko in 1977, R Shuck was my grandmother's grandfather.
By the way, Rabbi Shuck came to Israel in 1905 and contributed money to a synagogue near Jerusalem. The story in mentioned in a special plaque on the building's wall.
I am still looking for some of R Shuck's descendants. I will be happy for any information.

I am the great granddaughter of Malka Amalia Schuck, daughter of Nathan Schuck. The spelling used was always the German spelling with umlaut. However there was a branch in Slovakia which converted and used the Hungarian version of the name Sik. By the way there was a custom of naming daughters in a sequence of Eszter/Malka/Eszter... so my Grandmother was Eszter, my Mother Malka and I am Ester Saxon.
