Is there a central database of birth names of Jewish children who lost their families and identities but who's lives were saved by being sent to Catholic Orphanages in France?

Jonathan,

A distant relative of mine, Lucia (Lucie) Alexander (Lucia (Lucie) Alexander), was hidden in a French orphanage.

According to the notes of my father, Dr. Norbert Isenberg, "Lucie was deported to France on October 22, 1940 but she escaped, lived in hiding and survived." She "was interned in Gurs until March 14, 1941 and in Rivesaltes until August 11, 1942. Thanks to the efforts of Jewish Boyscouts, she was liberated in 1942 and subsequently she remained hidden under the assumed name of Lucie d'Aubrinon in an orphanage and then in a cloister in Brives until the spring of 1943. She kept her assumed name and became an apprentice barber (Friseurlehre). She managed to escape detection and arrest."

I did a little bit of research on the subject and found this article at Yad Vashem: http://www.yadvashem.org/yv/en/education/newsletter/24/hidden_child.... I did not uncover a central database.

Look forward to learning more about this,

Mark

Me too. Here on Geni there are profiles for a family that include a little boy who my father remembers as his best friend in Germany before my dad and his parents fled to Shanghai.
The boy and his parents are all 3 listed at Geni as being murdered in Auschwitz, point of deportation: Gurs France. But in Yad Vashem I only find transport records for the parents. I know,... I am hoping for a miracle.
Anyway, Mark, thanks for your interest, and your help.
Jonathan

Remembered... My dad died in 1997.
