One of the merged profiles had a DOB of 12th April 1684.

While not impossible this would mean that Jacob's parents waited until he was 7 MONTHS old to baptise him. Given the social norm was to baptise within the first week of life it seems very unlikely to be a true DOB.

I am suspicious that of the sources quoted for that family group four are DRC records, which would not normally contain DOBs, and the fifth is Bergen's Register, which in Jacob's entry only states the 30th Nov baptism date.

Just to clarify, i'm not suspicious of DRC records :)
I am suspicious that the DOB did not come from any of the sources that the author lists. I also find it odd that in the following family group, Jacob's own, only a Bp. date is listed.

This states he was born in 1684 and baptized 30 Nov 1684. The actual date of birth is not given.
