Please see Darrell Wolcott, Bartrum's "Pedigrees of the Welsh Tribal Patriarchs", #1 - CYNDDELW ab EINION of Widigada, http://www.ancientwalesstudies.org/id169.html. in which he states:

It is our conclusion that Cynddelw was actually "ap Einion ap Eunydd ap Pyll ap Sandde ap Gwyddno ap Cadwalader[8].  This Eunydd, a man of Meirionydd born c. 935, married the heiress of northern Ceredigion[9] which adjoins Meirionydd.  They had a son, Einion, who we suggest married a lady of Is Cennen: a daughter of Rhiryd ap Mor ap Ynyr ap Pasgen[10].  Einion had sons (a) Peredur Beisgwyn[11], born c. 995, who inherited his grandmother's lands in Ceredigion; (b) Peredur Beiswyrdd[12], born c. 1000, who was the youngest and inherited his father's manor in Meirionydd; and (c) Cynddelw, born c. 997, who settled upon lands provided by his mother's family in Ystrad Tywy.

Paging Anne Brannen

Thanks, Private User, for the heads up!

Steven Mitchell Ferry -- Wolcott's assessment of this VERY vexed piece of the tree makes sense to me, and I've changed Gwyddno's name and father. do we know from whom Cadwaladr comes?

(Tag me, so I see these things; otherwise I am likely to miss them!)

Anne Brannen - if you hadn't noticed, Darrell's footnotes don't quite line up with his text in this paper, but I believe the answer is found in footnotes 7 and 6. Take a look if you would. If you agree, I will extend the line in Geni.
I try to address these issues with the profile managers, but I will tag you in the future. It's also time I went back to see which issues were not addressed, and I'll shoot those to you as well.

The profile managers aren't usually really up for this stuff, so tag me for sure.

Yes, I noticed that the footnotes are problematic.

Why don't you make your best judgments, and extend the line, and explain what you're doing in the Overview -- we can master the profiles later, AND if we all decide that things should be different, we can change it.

It's a VERY vexed piece of the VERY vexed piece of the tree.

So there isn't One Right Way to do this. We simply have to look at our evidence, and make judgments as to what its usefulness is.

Anne Brannen - Done...he connects back to Cunedda, which Wolcott does mention in his text.

Yes, he ought; the line knew well that it was connected to Cunedda.

Thanks!
