For many years the parents of Captain Andrew Newcomb have been unknown. The book by B.M. Newcomb 1923 makes not mention of his parents. HOWEVER recent trees have been uploaded to various sites that do include parents of Cpt Andrew.
It appears that many have copied previously published data, and included it in a current pedigree file, to state that John Newcomen & Ms Garsciogne OR Thomas Newcomb, could fill the blank spot in the pedigree.
You can see how incorrect information posted can act as a VIRUS and spread quickly and be included in other pedigree files.
Note that John Newcomen and his wife died 50 years before Captain Andrew Newcomb was born in 1618.
