Is it possible to import an existing tree into Geni I don't want to spend time imputing all the info again

Short answer: not directly. There's a roundabout workaround involving a tool called "SmartMatch", but in general the best thing to do is to find someone in your family tree who is already on Geni, and fill in the blanks from there. As a Pro you have full access to the Search routines, so it shouldn't be too difficult.

For instance: Maciej Machut

Maven Helms, thank you so much for taking time to respond to my inquiry, I appreciate it.

Step Two is merging your ancestor's profile with the matching profile - this can be a bit tricky, and sometimes requires calling in a Curator to get the job done.

Merge request has been initiated. Since the owner of the other profile is still active, we now wait to see how long it takes him to respond.

Merged. I wasn't able to get anywhere with Frank B. Eiden Sr's father, as he apparently did not know or would not say who his parents were or where they came from. He isn't the same person as Frank *N* Eiden from the same area - better watch out for *him* so he doesn't confuse the issue.

Hi Maven,

Again thank you very much for your continued interest. Your facility with all things genealogical appears to be far above my limited skills. Yes, I have been aware of the other Frank "N" Eiden. Frank B Eiden is my grandfather and I haven't had any luck researching his paternal line. I have lots of info on his mother Josephine Machut as well as detailed info of my search however I am uncertain it is appropriate for me to share in this forum. I am new to this communication method and I am not sure about what is appropriate.

Only share what you feel comfortable about sharing. We'll survive without a public washing of dirty laundry. :-)
