Family Tree Links

If within your family group you have access independent of who is the manager, except of locked Master Profiles, user-profiles and profiles of children under 14.

Outside your family group you get full access to public profiles by collaborating with one of the profile managers. You find an option to invite to collaboration on the users Actions menu.

Please note that this is not needed unless you have something to contribute to the profiles, - adding extra info etc, since the profile is public, even to the outside world of none-Geni users.

even when up last name index, it does not show anyone past Gertrude Wooley, so I cannot print out all ancestors or decendants

Check the Actions menu on your own profile for Ancestors and Descendents reports.

Private User Sounds like you are describing the tree interface. You can change the number of ancestors that the tree draws in the preferences section.

It is only showing family I have added, it not showing past Gertrude Bones nee Woolley unless i type names in, it does not register them as ancestors as gaps apart are too great I suppose, other people have added my ancestors, it tells me the connection to them, even though I don't fully understand the interpretations, but would like to print out my family list of names, but does not add ant from distant ancestors

If we're still talking about the Tree view..... Gertrude is not your direct ancestor. If you want to see Gertrude's tree, simple click on the tree above her profile rectangle.
