My 2nd great grandfather Paul Morton is something of a mystery man. He died in 1843 in Tippah County, Mississippi. Though many have tried, no one has ever found out for sure if he is the same Paul Morton who was born in 1801 in Cumberland, Maine. It seems off the wall that he would have traveled that far (compared to all my other ancestors who were predominantly southerners). I wish I could find some people who are connected with the Mortons of Maine. I've had my DNA tested and uploaded it to gedmatch. My number is A045117. Several people have Paul Morton of Maine in their family trees but I'm just not sure it's accurate.
