Hi Peter
I have no link but by chance I walked past (for the first time ever) the grand building that is Heald Wood House over Christmas and just wondered who lived or had lived there. I did a bit of research and found out the most notable person was HP Griffiths. I discovered the information about him on an industry (1953) web site and then saw your family tree. I was not sure it was the same person but noted that there was no birth date for him on your tree so I just decided to pass some info to you just in case it helped. I enjoyed reading the small bits about him as he sounded a very clever and important businessman of his era. You must be proud of him.
Thank you for confirming it was the same HP Griffiths.
Do you know if he built the house and how long he lived there?
Please answer only if you are happy to.

Wishing you well.
Yours sincerely
Steven

PS. When I typed Woolley I should have typed Woodley in Romiley.

Dear Steven,Thanks for your feedback.
He didn`t build the House but liver there quite a long time maybe 20 or 30 years.
Believe it is Georgian style and was probably built around 1900?
Big enough to hold a Garden Party (for the war effort?) in the garden.
He was the "Head honcho" of the family and had a great influence within the family circle. And particularly on me, since I was fortunate enough to be the first grandchild!!
If you go by again do take a photo if you get a chance and send it to me at PGL@Lancashire.ch , Kind Refards, Graham
