Note: The Gregorian calendar was introduced in Estonia on January 31, 1918. The following day, rather than being February 1, was February 14. The difference at that point in time was 13 days. But according to the Gregorian system, the year 1900 (leap year) had no such date as February 29. For this reason, for dates in the 19th century the difference is only 12 days.
This means that for any pre-1900 dates (birth, marriage, etc.) in church records, one needs to add 12 days. And for dates between January 1, 1900, and January 31, 1918, add 13 days.
Therefore, one must add 12 days to the recorded birth date of Jaan Uibopuu of February 3, 1829, giving a converted date of February 15, 1829.
