Edward Cross - Query

Margaret COLLESS is the daughter of Charles Milton COLLESS (1823-1898) and Mary Ann LESS (1834-1927) and her siblings were born between 1852 and 1875

Edward CROSS - son of Rose FLOOD and Charles CROSS- was born 1799 and died 1860.

Due to the lack of available years it is not possible for Edward CROSS (son of Rose FLOOD and Charles CROSS) to be the husband of Margaret COLLESS

Charles CROSS born 1749 died 1835, arrived in Australia in June 1790 and married Rose FLOOD in November 1790. Their children were born 1791, 1792, 1793, 1797, 1799, 1801 and 1805.
He died in 1835.
His wife Rose FLOOD died in 1836.
His son Edward to Rose FLOOD was born 1799 and died in 1860.
Charles CROSS and Rose FLOOD are buried beside each other at Wilberforce Cemetery.

Therefore Charles would have had to have divorced Rose FLOOD and marry Rose COBCRAFT after 1805 and before 1835 and their son Edward CROSS would have had to be born between 1806 and 1836. With Margaret being born sometime between 1852 and 1875 - it is possible that they married.

It is however unlikely (but not impossible) that Charles would have named his son Edward when his older son by that name was still living.

It is possible that Charles did not marry Rose COBCRAFT and that she named the child.

Christopher Howard Seymour - can you add any information or sources on Rose COBRAFT or Margaret COLLESS as I can't find any records relating to them.

My apologies if I have misled you...
I do not maintain my Geni page, other than uploading a Gedcom file.
Its a bit of a mystery how Margaret Colless (Croft) found her way to Geni - it does not look correct.and not reflective of My Ancestry page
Somehow I have an error with Rose cobcraft and there apears to be some confusion with Rose Flood.
I've been very busy working on some other projects and in my exhasted state, I've not been giving much attention to genealogy
