My Smiths lived in or near Madras in India from 1800-1900. They were probably indo-britons and were associated with other Indo-Briton or Eurasian families and withs the Madras Native infantry. Other families were LEAR, TRISTRAM, WATKINS, STEPHENSON CARRAPIETT.
