Capt. William Ball of Millenbeck - Alternative Data After Merges

Sharon - you're going to have to bear with us on this line. It is extraordinarily garbled (and historically so). I'll call up Dan Cornett to help clarify - but just from the couple of hours so far today, we're a long way from resolving data conflicts.

I think we'll need to engage those who really specialize in Colonial Virginia to sort this out ... I'm not an expert about the Ball clan. I have been setting MP as I sort-out obvious incorrect links & merges, but not from a basis of good 'sourcing' (other than what may be in About's and Sources tabs, of course).

I'll leave it up to you guys - I was just trying to source check a line for a South African user - and it wasn't correct. Good Luck :-)

Dan - it's actually looking pretty decent now as a tree, after my (marathon cleanup). Sourcing documentation, as always, will have to take a back seat to keeping up with the tree structure & duplicates. Sharon contributed a wonderful 6 generation William Ball pedigree which has helped a lot to straighten it out; we're actually at a DOWN tree point that needs more profiles.

The main issue we're not getting across well is that there's no need to add early immigrant profiles to geni. So it would be good to think of ways to work on this.

we don't know where in England this Ball family originated, but he & his family arrived in the Virginia Colony "about 1650," so likely all his children were born in England.
