Dear Fellow researcher,

where is the evidence that Peter is the son of James? Peter came to Maryland in 1661. Alone as a child?
Eme and her son James came with her second husband Nicholas Johnson to America. James her first husband died before.
James and Eme had only two children. James and William. There are church records about the marriage of James and Eme, about the birth/christening of their children and the second marriage of Eme.
I could not find a Peter in the church records which I have looked through.
And where is the evidence that the female persons kept the name La..F...?
Who was the first female who did so, so we can do more research on her.
Ancestry, for example is just a databases to give you a hint to do more research. Not everything you can find there or on other websites is proved.
All people I have ever asked about a record or evidence were not able to give it to me. If there is a person out there who has evidences and records please let us know.
What we all need are these records and evidences to do more good research.

Great questions, D.

I see you have added some documents recently and have 'tagged' them to a few profiles (such as Emaline Fugate) -- great!

(For everyone: here is a bit on how to do "Sourcing" on Geni: https://www.geni.com/blog/geni-tips-how-to-add-sources-to-profiles-...)

James Mariner Fugate born 1630 died 1651 June 8 Wife Anne Emaline Lamb. Found English birth and christening records. Had three son Peter James Born 1650 James Born 1652 and his Brother William born and died in 1652. James became known as not only a mariner/planter, He also is known as James II, I believe he first married Jane Armelies Lawton they probable had one son called or referred to as old James. He married Dorothy Petty or pettus in 1675 and their is no proof that they had children. They were together or married for 8 years and both had other children with others, so it is hard to believe they did not have children.

i havr been researching the Fugate line since 1976 and have reams of hard copy books, I pulled out some of them and found things that are useful and not on web sites at this time. I have had my DNA done twice and am on Ancestry.com at 88 years old, I have most of the Fugates in my line commented to memory. would enjoy any data supported by facts as there is a lot of junkout there where folks just accept everything others put on line,

I believe Don is on a good trail, about Both James II and Peter B 1650 both marring Dorothy. James II disallows any association with Dorothy in a settlement Dated 1699 for the past 16 years. I believe that the concept of Emaline marrying Johnson and bring her son James who had to have been before Dec 18 1653 if james II is the father for he died 8 June 1651. It is even logical that William and James II were twins and that he was Christened in Dec 18 1653. It is the same with Peter Adeline Fugate born 1685 died 1640 and Tobias Fugate born 1585 died 1640 and Elizabeth Fuller born 1588 Died 1640. I believe they all died of the Bubonic Plague which was happening 1637 to 1640 in England and particularly in the Isle of Wight where all of the French Huguenots landed.
