You are trying to combine the mother Alice Snayle Pierce Bennett and her daughter Elizabeth Pierce into one person. Alice Snayle and her 1st husband Thomas Pierce had a daughter Elizabeth Pierce that accompanied them on their voyage to Charles City in 1618. When Thomas Pierce was killed in the Indian Massacre at Martins Hundred on 22 Mar 1622, Alice and her daughter Elizabeth were captured by the Indians and held for ransom for almost two years before they were released in early 1624. At that time the widow Alice Snayle Pierce married Thomas Bennett and her daughter Elizabeth Pierce took her new step-father Thomas Bennett as her legal guardian. Elizabeth had been engaged to be married to a John Filmer who had made out his Will giving her estate before he died in early 1624. The Will had become lost and Elizabeth needed a male legal guardian to protect her rights to this estate. This daughter Elizabeth Pierce must have been at least 18 years old to have been engaged to marry in 1624 which places her birth no later that 1606. This would therefore push back the date of birth of her mother Alice Snayle to at least 1590 and more likely before that to c1586.
