My under standing is that my 4th great grandmother Elizabeth English fell out of bed and broke her hip causing her to eventually die. She had a crippled hand and that is where the story may have been perpetuated. It is seen in picture of her in her rocking chair. This is the hand she used to hold her pipe with! There is a statement by her granddaughter used in court hearing to that effect!
