@Margaret Peggy Goforth Springer or Margaret Peggy Paulk Springer?

Surname reported as Goforth, but no family with this or a similar name is found in the 1790 S C census.

It is also suggested Margaret may be the daughter of Uriah Paulk, based on many later descend ents of her's named Uriah and the proximity of the Paulk and Springer families. In Union Coun ty South Carolina Minutes of the County Court 1785-1799 (page 246), in the County Court Minut es 1st day of December 1789 (page 290): "Rachel Paulk applied for letters of Administration o n the Estate of Uriah Paulk deceased. It's ordered that a Citation Issue to Excite all the Ki ndred and Creditors of the Said Deceased to appear at our Next Court, to Shew cause if any th ey have why Letters of administration Should not be Granted unto the said Rachel Paulk".

In 1850 Margaret lived with her son John in the 9th District of McNeary Co., TN (page 137). S he could not read or write.
