George Wright Hicks was my great-great-grandfather. He was not the son of John Hicks and Susanna Bryan. I know where this incorrect data came from. There was a John Hicks who married a Susanna Bryan but they had no son named George Wright Hicks. I believe this is a deliberate attempt of a wannabe Indian to manufacture a fake genealogy. Go back in this posted genealogy and you find that John Hicks was the son of Charles Hicks the part-Cherokee who really existed. That also is not true. If I were descended from Charles Hicks I would be proud because he was a great man. But there is no link. All this is false and fabricated to authenticate something that is not true.
George Wright Hicks was the son of Asa Hicks. He was born in Franklin County, NC to an unknown mother. The genealogy from there forward is correct. I have a copy of Asa Hicks will. Because George Wright died before his father, Asa mentioned his grandchildren in his will. I am descended from George Wright’s son Adolphus Lafayette Hicks. My grandfather was Dolphus Leroy Hicks. He was named for his uncle and Leroy Atemus Hicks who died in the same boiler explosion that killed George Wright Hicks. Nancy Trussell lived in Green County Alabama at the same time Asa Hicks lived there. George Wright Hicks never lived there although his brothers did. Nancy Trussell was from a very well researched family and I have some true stories about her and her bravery during the Civil War. I am elderly and cannot afford to be a member of the Geni organization. I would be glad to discuss this with anyone who is interested by e-mail. I am Philip Hudson and my e-mail is hudsonpw@tx.rr.com

Mr Hudson,

I've sent you email... I'd be happy to incorporate the information that you have into the tree here. I'd be very grateful to obtain a copy of Asa Hicks will... I will contact you via your email address, but I advise that since that is visible to the internet at large - you might want to edit this discussion to remove it...

thanks
d
