Hej, Sven-Erik,

Hello Sharon,

Thanks for the link with the chart. It´s getting clearer, but "removed" is still a bit confusing. It´s like "relatives set a side", not the very closes so to speak, "in outer space" :)...

/P.A.

I understand 3.cousin or 18. cousin.
But why ex. five times removed ?
I do not understand??
It give me no meaning - removed?? what has removed??
I have tried to count but it never gave me the answer. !!
I Danish we may have no Words for that ?

Lise, yes you do, removed = fjernet

You might understand it better if you take a look at the images here.

Hej Ulf,

To those of you that can understand Norwegian, in this forum-tread there is a table of how to understand the removed part in family-relationships.

Hej Remi,

Vänliga hälsningar/P.A.

any chance for me on geni? :)

Valentina: That the "refresh" of a path (the circling arrows) will take a week after the last use on a profile before you can use it again.

In the meantime: check for parent conflicts! They can really confuse the path searching. The free "History Search" tool can be used to identify them easily (turn off the showing of "projects" in the Options, and enable showing problem profiles and pending merges).

but with Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh is still 3d type of path, with 4 families, but I have path with 2 families to his profile- mine and his
now this one:https://www.geni.com/path/valentina-v-golubeva+is+related+to+Prince...

I was really surprised I have 3 type of pathes to him:)

1. my cusine married his cusine
2. through his wife:)
3. and now I got 3d one through my Saint-Petersburg relatives...

so, what should I do next time to get right path and to see all pathes?

N.B. Any minds about my Tuder-Tudor project? As I can see the only was is to get DNA result?

Please look at that project.

Currently Geni will only show one of the possibly many paths between profiles.

... and get those parent conflicts properly resolved.

Dan Cornett but can I use arrows to change path?

No. Read the description of project on working with relationships (I gave link above). It explains a lot of that; and check the other projects/discussions "linked" in that project's description.

The question I have always asked is - Can a cousin once removed ever come back again?

:-)

Private User is it still a question or you just realised this subject?:)

I have wondered the same thing! Now I know!

Rob: <smile> With an appropriate marriage they might establish a closer relationship; then could be considered an ex-cousin once removed. Then divorce, and be an ex-ex-cousin once removed. #TongueInCheek
