In the February 1975 issue of "The Old Tryon Society" of Rutherford Co., North Carolina
is recorded the family Bible of Robert and Janet Withrow, Copydate 1729, published in
Edinburg, Scotland.
"The most significant thing about the Withrow Bible is that it actually existed. Due
to the fact that it has not been seen for years until now, som researchers had felt the
original report of it's existence was questionable. Possibly it was not found because
we were looking for a Bible rather than pages torn therefrom. The paper is very, very
fragile. We hope to get it laminated."

(NOTE: Reading the name "Edmon" is rather difficult. Originally it was felt that it was
Earmon. Long and tedious study under lights, in the sun, in shade, and under magnifiers
reveals that there was a curl on the written E and that there is probably a mark above
the suspected "a". Also, the "r" did not look like the "r" in Withrow, therefore it is
felt that "Ear" is probably "Ed").
