The only reliable information about Robert comes from the Withrow Family Bible. A transcription of it was published back in the early 1970s in the Bulletin of the Genealogical Society of Old Tryon County (Rutherford Co, NC), by Kenyon Withrow. Robert had no middle name and his parents are unknown. We do not know when he died. Many people are copying information from someone who confused this Robert with much later men of the same name and have attributed children to him that were not his and a death date that is fictional. For some reason many people are copying some incorrect information about his parents being a Christopher Paul Withrow and Dorothy Strickland. I have looked for years and found no documentation from the period showing that these people even existed, much less were his parents. Unless you have documentation (not just someone else's tree), please do not post. Posting false information does not help anyone.
