Job Babcock, father of Mercy Babcock, in his 1715 will (proved 1718) names Mercy as Mercy Babcock (as in unmarried) in 1715, while other daughters are identified by their married name, i.e. names Jane Braman, Mary Tanner, Elizabeth Brand, Sarah Hall. If Mercy is the mother of Rebecca why is she not identified as Mercy Brand?
