Could John Newhouse Cory "Jnr" actually be the son of William George, Jnr and not John Newhouse Cory "Snr"?
I ask because his death notice:

Makes no mention of a son named John Newhouse Corrie. It mentions his "late son" Paul Peter John Cory.
I did find on William George Cory, Jnr's death notice reference to his minor son John Newhouse Cory.
Consequently, I find it far more likely that John Newhouse Cory, Jnr was the son of William George Cory, Jnr.

Good detective work! I'm sure you're correct-don't have access to my research(hard drives won't boot any more),but it looks as though I assumed same names could only belong to a son not a nephew(without checking I believe I added these names..). When I can prise my tablet away from vindictive girlfriend(!),I will attempt to sort it out. Maybe new or no GF might also be a good future option...
My guess is that William George Cory named his son after his brother; not realising his brother would go on to marry his widow? Just a thought. We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary yesterday. My father made it to 12 years with his first wife, I suppose that means I have at least two more years before considering my options. ;-)
