I've been posting "news" paragraphs to the project's front page, but since that will eventually get too long I'm going to start posting the news items here and just keep the latest posting on the front page. Here are the news items previously posted..
[2016 Aug 13] First success! While compiling the above list of Granadier families at Geni, a lineage established by Minnie Granadier and David Ginsberg ( https://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/6000000004687855487 ) was found. Since Minnie is described in Jacob Doroshkin's book about the Granadier family, it was possible to connect Minnie and David's descendants to Minnie's large family tree.
[2016 Aug 18] Another pair of tree branches united! The lineage founder that was indicated as "Bunim Granadier ( https://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/6000000039135760237 ), father of Tillie Weissman (nee Granadier)" has been identified as the same Bunim who is the brother of Hershke Granadier ( https://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/6000000026873825051 ), using information from Jacob Doroshkin's book about the Granadier family. Although Hershke and Bunim's father's name is not known, they are part of one lineage, and are indicated as such.
[2016 Aug 19] Hadar Menashe from the Shlomo Granadir & Rachel lineage says that, as far as she knows, her family comes from the shtetl of David-Horodock. That town is just down the road, a 1-day walk from Turov. Wonderful! We now know three large Grandir/Granadier lineages all come from the same vicinity. Genetic genealogy can tell us if any or all of them have common ancestry.
