The present entry appears to be the confusion of two individuals named Henry Gingrich, both of Lebanon County and both born about the same time.
The first Henry Gingrich is well documented, lived 1814-02-19 to 1885-04-02, the child of Joseph Gingrich and Elizabeth Meyer, married to Sally Bachman, and spent most of his life in South Annville Township, Lebanon County, PA. The second Henry Gingrich is not nearly as well documented, but was born c. 1813, married to Louisa Withers, father of Solomon W. Gingrich, and initially appears in South Lebanon Township, Lebanon County, PA, nearby to his father-in-law, George Withers, and later in East Hanover Township, Dauphin County, PA.
The first Henry Gingrich shows in these censuses:
* 1860 South Annville Township, Lebanon (with children Jacob, Nancy, and Elizabeth and including Barbara Yordy) https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MX5X-XS5
* 1880 South Annville, Lebanon (with children Mary and Sallie and including Barba Yordy) https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MWN3-QBL
I did not search for other census entries since the 1860 census is sufficient to demonstrate there are two families and this one happens not to be my relative.
The second Henry Gingrich shows in these censuses:
* 1850 South Lebanon, Lebanon (with children George, Catharine, and Solomon living next door to father-in-law George Withers) https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/M4HR-S3P
* 1860 South Lebanon Township, Lebanon (with children George, Catharine, Solomon, Leah, Clement, and Sarah living next door to father-in-law George Withers) https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MX5X-F1Z
* 1870 East Hanover Township, Dauphin (with children Clement and Sarah) https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MZGN-ZDW
Due to the 1860 census, these are CLEARLY two different families. Therefore, I propose that this entry for Henry Gingrich be separated into two different entries. The first keeping all the currently entered information here EXCEPT for wife Louisa Withers and son Solomon W Gingrich. All I know about the second Henry Gingrich is that he is born c. 1813 (from the census data) and that he and Louisa are named in her maternal uncle Henry Lutz's will (http://boards.ancestry.com/localities.northam.usa.states.nebraska.c...). I have found the burial of a daughter, Maria Ginrich (1838-09-11 to 1840-02-14), reportedly "Child of Henrich & Louisa" in South Lebanon Township near land owned by George Withers, Henry's neighbour and father-in-law. Unfortunately, Henry's name was not unique in either Lebanon or Dauphin counties and I have not been able to determine which, if any, of the multiple death notices after 1870 may refer to him. I also have no idea who his parents might be or if he was even born in Lebanon County.
Agreed and done, here are the separated Henry's, data fields may need revising if you'd ensure that? Then I'll "field lock" so they are not confused in future.
Henry Gingrich, of South Annville
Henry Gingrich, of South Annville
I have separated the information further (e.g., the dates belonged to the Henry GINGRICH of South Annville not the Henry Gingrich of South Lebanon) and moved the various census events recorded for him, though I can only personally verify the 1860 census. I'm assuming that whoever initially entered the data did the proper research (and the events were probably from an import). I dislike that research would get lost.
I am not able to enter information on the Work tab of "Henry GINGRICH" above's profile (this profile: https://www.geni.com/profile/edit_basics/6000000003099395105 as I can't use the @ as he's not in my tree now). This information, again added by someone else, should be there:
Henry worked as Twp. assessor and school director
Henry worked as Charter Diredtor of the Annville Bank
Henry worked as Farmer
If someone who has access to that tab could add this information, I'm sure it would be appreciated to future researchers. Note, though, that the second item likely has a typo and should probably be "Charter Director".
