I am new to Geni and recently posted my paternal line. I have a lot of merge issues which I have reviewed. It seems that the original poster put in people as their own sibling which resulted in being considered by Geni as half siblings and is some cases they are duplicates that I know have to be merged but the date may be off by a year or two and they are not seen as a match. How do I make those corrections. Thanksl.

If you can see them on the tree, you can use the Move option from the profile in tree view.

After you have moved the profile, it will still exist in the original. You should have a tree conflict and choosing to resolve the conflict will let you set the correct parents.

Thanks for the reply. Moses Livingston I have tried what you said and went to move and tried to move Richard Carvin Livingston from appearing both as Moses's brother and Moses's son. He was not his brother; he was his son. I have to remove him as Moses's brother and can't seem to do it.

Those are actually two different profiles, you'll need to merge them first.

@Moses Livingston. I merged them and then ended up with a real mess. It shows 4 parents ;2 of which are grandparents and all of the siblings for 2 generations show as 21 sibling of one generation. Are there some simple step by step instructions to figure this out. I don't think the instructions are clear enough for my limited experience. Thanks.

All that remains is the last step I described. You now have a tree conflict on Richard. From the tree view you can choose to resolve the conflict. This will give you the option to select which set of parents are the correct ones.
