I'd go with Addington/Adlington, Surrey. It's only within the last hundred years or so that London swallowed up all the surrounding towns.

Apparently there's an Adlington in Lancashire and another one in Cheshire, but none in Surrey.

Addington has been spelled that way at least since the 16th century (reference found in William Camden's "Britannia", 1610 edition).

Great! I could see they seemed to be two different places - but couldn't figure out where they were.
