I doubt this could be fixed as many are under the assumption that because it was in a book it is correct and this is why I left ge I years ago, but I thought I mine as well share.
First John Medleys lineage come the medley omnibus NOT John medleys Mary Louis Donnely's book. Yes her book does publish it, but she says she basically took it from the omnibus without verifying sources.
Second an article published in 1964 hinted that his actual father was Clement medley based on a death record from 1632 found with a deceased descendant of John medley who died in 1929 and the record listed John as a son, but even that isn't verified.
Thirdly I will highlight not only how John medley was not the son of Richard and Susannah, but in fact NEVER merges with any of the descendants of the original DE Methley lime tracing back hundreds of years.
John medleys lineage was under some speculation since the publication of Mary Donnellys book. There were many obvious differences between the John medley whose dad was Richard and the John medley came to Maryland I'm 1635. First of which is John whose is the son of Richard was Protestant while ours was Catholic (fine he could've converted) and richard medley was a parish clerk so his kids would've expected to be literate, yet ours was illiterate. You can still say it is possible yet unlikely they are the same but this confirms it 100%. The medley line that would be expected to come from was from YDNA haplogroup I2, yet 2 direct paternal testers recently took the test and came back as R1b.
