I believe that my maternal grandfather's family all came from Sokolivka. They were all in the US by about 1910. My maternal grandfather, Harry Sader, who died in 1957, had four siblings (that I know of) who are all buried in Buffalo area cemeteries. Rachel Chernila, married to Joseph Chernila, died in 1959. Another sister, Rose Snitzer, was married to Jacob Snitzer. After Jacob died and Rachel died, Rose married Joseph Chernila. Another sister, Mary (Miriam) was married to Joseph Berleant. Mary died in 1949. I believe all of these families came from Sokolivka. Harry's brother, Louis Sader, married Eva in Massachsetts and later moved to Buffalo. I didn't really know any of this until I saw Mary Berleant's obituary and I started to do research. Harry is buried in Riverside Cemetery in NJ. His parents were Abraham Sader and Dora Sader. Dora died in 1914 in NYC. According to Doras's death certificate, her father was Joseph Vigodna (which, I think, should have been Wigodner) and Esther Silberstein. I think Abraham Sader remarried after his wife, Dora, died. My mother, who was born in 1917, was named after Dora. I have put together a preliminary family tree on Family Tree DNA after I had my DNA tested. If you are on Family Tree DNA, you should be able to access it.
