Private profiles

Hi Lisa:

I'm a GENI volunteer curator... Here's a guideline that governs how I handle private profile:

What Curators shouldn’t do:
"Edit or merge an unclaimed private profile without the explicit permission or request of a close relative of that profile unless the profile or a manager of the profile is already in your family group. (Close relative is considered fourth cousins and closer of that private profile), or is being edited or merged in activity to grow the world family tree by bringing in an isolated tree."

i think we've all been frustrated from time to tine with people who want privacy in their tree. You may find that it just takes a while for people to respond to a merge request.

Thank YOU.. It's my sisters husband's family and they have asked me to load their tree.. It goes back a long way so have helped the private profiles anyway by going back a long way, way more than they had.. ;-) I have invited my sister's husband's sister.. I'll get her to request.. It is fustrating as you have a double up of data which is crazy.. ;-)
