I have researched this line of Mitchell's for over 40 years and Have discussed your John & Catherine with others but we were never able to come to an agreement on it. I descendent from the first Abraham & Mary Mitchell through their son Abraham & Ann Mitchell then Abraham & Kezziah (Hunter) Mitchell and their son Col. George Mitchell of Onslow Co, NC. I have ever will, deed & document to be found on them. I only want the correct documented line. I have questioned your John & Catherine Bates Mitchell because of the following documents. Do you have anything that can correct my line of thinking?
Elizabeth City Co., Va. Orders 1715-21, pg. 152.

June 1718. Upon petition of John Mitchel agst. Saml. Reddlehurst for consideration of his maintaynance, sd Reddlehurst absenting himself from Mitchel's servis.

Upon petition of Elizabeth Reddlehurst for a cow and calf left her by her grandmother. It's ordered that John Mitchell, Exec. of Saml. Daniel's est. will pay and deliver the cow and calf to petitioner.

1719. John Mitchell filed a petition on behalf of his daughter Ann for a legacy of 20 shillings sterling left her by her grandmother Ann Daniel dec'd.

21 May 1719. Sarah Pett orphan of John Pett, dec'd, bound to JOHN MITCHELL and HANAH his wife.

Page 168. 3 Sept. 1719. Upon petition of JOHN MITCHELL on behalfe of his daughter ANN for legacy left her by her grandmother ANN DANIELL dec'd ordered that sd. Mitchell as exr. to Sam. Daniell pay said Ann.

As you can see in 1719 John Mitchell's wife is named Hanah Daniell Mitchell.
In another document my Abraham's wife is named as another daughter of Ann Daniell.

I hope you will reply to this question.
Sincerely,

I started looking at your tree and when I got to this point
https://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/6000000006853883440

Something is off with George William Mitchell b.1732 d.1806
His father Benjamin Mitchell b,1717 d.1799 (this means Benjamin was 15 yrs old as a father)
His mother Keziah (Hunter) Mitchell b.1749 d.1807 (this means she was born after George William Mitchell)

I did see other trees where Keziah (Hunter) Mitchell was born c1721

Any ideas?

Yes, there is something wrong with this tree. In the first place I did not submit it, someone took my tree and added to it, information that is not correct.

My Col. George Mitchell's father Abraham Mitchell born 10 Mar. 1688, died between Oct. 1747 and Jan. 1748, did not have Justice in his name The William Mitchell put in as his father is not correct. This has been put in by someone of the Nimrod Mitchell of SC group. Abraham's father was Abraham born ca. 1713, died after Feb. 1746 in Onslow Co, NC.

The Nimrod Mitchell family claim that his Keziah Hunter Mitchell was the daughter of Nicholas Hunter. This is incorrect. I am not saying that their Keziah Hunter was not his mother only that she was not the daughter of Nicholas.

My Col. George Mitchell was born after his father's death. In Nicholas Hunter's will he names both his daughter Keziah, his grandson George and states that Keziah is the relick of Abraham Mitchell. I have this will as well as a deed that gives all of this information in it.

I would love to hear from you.
Sincerely,
Pauline Mitchell Pierce-Via
