Have you had your mtDNA tested? H is a common dna group for Europeans...H14b1 is uncommon in Europe and more research needs to be done. It has been found in Iran. This is the maternal dna passed from mother to daughter...and so on. I have 2% Central Asia dna, not much, but cause for wonder.
In the Mothers of Acadia project on another site, there have been a few confirmed H14b1 women, who are ancestors of Perrine Bourg, one of the first French Settlers of Acadia. Where did her mother or grandmother come from? Did she come from Central Asia/Afghanistan area during the Dark/Middle Ages, maybe during a war such as Battle of Tours? Charles the Hammer/France defeated the Muslims invading France. Food for thought...we will never know.
Consider getting your full mtdna done, so more mysteries might be unraveled.
