Tex Ritter - Paternal line

Have always loved John Ritter since seeing him in "Three's Company". Saw him in a rerun of "Newhart" last night (pre-Three's Company), and it prompted me to check for connection. I have Ritter connections from Moore Co, NC on my mother's side (Melton/Wallace/Ritter), but Geni shows my connection thru my dad's side which I had no inkling of and all my connections seem to be on dad's side, even when am expecting connection thru Mom. Am wondering why EVERYTHING is showing up thru dad!!! Can anyone enlighten me?

Thank you, Eldon. But that doesn't answer my question, "why are all my new connections coming in on dad's side, even the ones I know are thru my mother's side?" LOL I have one direct (gr gr grandfather on Mom's side)who came thru Geni connection on Dad's side as a distant, distant, distant cousin of a cousin of a cousin, or some such.

The pathfinding algorithm is probably "stuck". It gets that way from time to time. Give it a while to "unstick" itself. If it's still stuck after a week, ask a Curator for help.

Seems to be showing 11th cousin once removed blood line for you from your dad's side.

The Geni tree doesn't show a Wallace family connected via the Melton family as far as I could see.
