Stacy Elkins (Dillard) - Charlotte Elkins

Is this the Charlotte Estes you refer to?

Some people have attached a middle name of Mary to her however I've never seen a middle name for her. But yes my interest is in Charlotte Elkins Estes daughter of Gabriel Elkins and Stacy Dillard.

Charlotte Elkins Estes was my 4th great aunt .
I left a message on ancestry to a Cindy Mears who has Elkins and Estes on her tree , I did not see any sources listed .

I am in direct contact with Cynthia Gail. She has worked with a close cousin of hers on the Elkins family who has since passed. All she can tell me about the proof of Stacys children's names is that her cousin researched mamy many years before he passed, that he was very through and she trusts his work. When i look up his work i dont find a source that names the children. Gabriel had 20 children. HOW DO WE KNOW THIS? Where are the sources?

That's a good question , are you on ancestry ? I sent out a couple of messages to a few cousins match's, in hopes of finding something.

My sister is friends with an Elkins in Warren Co. Tennessee , If I remember correctly her name is Charlotte Elkins I will ask my sister to call her and see if she has any further info.

There was another Charlotte Elkins (b) 1842 Cannon Co TNN. ( Warren Co.) , she (m) William Henry Thomas 12-24-1857.
This Charlotte was the daughter of Edmund Silas Elkins (b) about 1820 (d) 1887 and Paralee Estes(1821) Cannon Co. TNN.

Gabriel Elkins 1 and Stacy Dillard were the parents of Edmond Silas Elkins ...

Gabriel Elkins married Stacey Dillard in 1785 - or 1787 ?
I can't find anything that indicates when he married Sophia Dillard a cousin of Stacey's? But I am sure he must have , or at least had children with her .

I have a few connections to the Elkins going through my Foster linage . My mothers grandmother was an Elkins . I will she is any of the Fosters have any more info to share .

Gail- i believe Charlotte who is the daughter of Edmond Silas Elkins is the Charlotte who carries the middle name of Mary.

I was contacted by a descendant of Edmond S. an couple months ago. He is looking for information on Paralee Estes. Paralee also happens to be related to my Estes line.

We dont have an exact date or location as to when Gabriel & Stacy married..I do have a legal document from 1808 that states Stacy is Gabriel's wife.... Stacy passed between l812-1813. I believe. Researxh also shows Gabriel's 2nd wife Mary Pendleton passed due to complications of childbirth in Feb 1814...this would indicate the 2 married abt. or bef. May 1813. He married Sophia Dillard (Stacy's niece) sometime after Mary's death. Gabriel & Sophia then had 8 children of their own. 20 children total for Gabriel.

Theres a lot of information Carol has gathered that is incorrect....I dont use any FIND A GRAVE information she or Bobby has posted..Carol passed a couple years ago so can not be asked for sources....

When i say collected, she did not research my line she just went on line a copied Ancestry Trees combined them all together and posted it...So her information is only as good as those other trees... The information she took from me DOES NOT have Charlotte having a middle name...I have done extensive research on her, there is NO document showing otherwise....so i am telling you Charlotte does not have a middle name.

I don't know @ what point I added the Charlotte connection of if she was merged in by another user . However I read plenty about her on line .... maybe your work even. I only recently began the validation process as I said WOW .. what a job I commend those who are dedicated like you and Erica Howton .. decided DNA testing might help find cousins with records and genetic !!!!! connections : )

Im pretty certain about the accuracy of my research on Charlotte. ..My cousin's grandmother Ruby was fortunate to have a keepsake of Charlotte. In her later years Charlotte lived with Ruby's grandfather (her son) William.

I however am back to my original question i posted: Where are the sources naming the children of Gabriel and Stacy?
