Hello,
As we know so far, Judith Judikje Raphael Hijmans Leefsma is probably the daughter of Heiman. But visiting the cemetery in Gorredijk in the Netherlands I found out her father's name was Raphael Schapp, probably from Veenendaal, Utrecht, The Netherlands
I wonder how this contradiction can be solved

The two sisters were married to Schaaps from Utrecht. The names on the gravestone is written שעפס.
The Schaaps from Gorredijk wrote their name שאחף.
These are two different families.
From Judikje's gravestone we know she was the daughter of rafael שאחף.
to the best of my knowledge he is not a member of the Friesland's Schaaps. The name doesn't run in the family.
We may look for birth records, marriage records and so on,
The bottom line: It the may a mistake to include her as a daugther of Raphael Hijmans. Who was her father remains a mystery.
There is a marriage related record at http://www.hetutrechtsarchief.nl/collectie/archiefbank/archieftoega...
Hello David,
Yes, you are right. I found a similar record in the Friese registration (the dates are a bit different). What we don't find are birth records. I found the lady under different names in Frieseland - Juduse Raphaels Heimans
Judikje Rafiels Heimans
Judik Raphael Hijmans
Judigje Rafaels Heimans
Grietje Raphaëls Heimans
but nothing about her father. And yet, the name on her tombstone is Schaap.
I don't believe we can solve this. She might have been adopted. Maybe some kind of a family scandal happened... Anyway, on her grave, where you write the ultimate truth, her husband Mozes Leefsma writes: her father was a Raphael Schaap.
I agree there is a contradiction between
(a) Her marriage and other records; and
(b) The Hebrew writing on her tombstone
In my experience, just because something is written on a tombstone does not make it "the ultimate true". That is particularly the case where the writing is in Hebrew, not many might have been able to read it, and stonemasons got away with all kinds of mistakes.
