I've been trying to build my try on Geni for quite some time but I've been finding it difficult to construct a genuine tree due to my error in allowing a user to add on to my tree when I first began Geni. The user in question's not been online in quite a while and I've beeen unable to block them.
I've found two errors in my family tree which I've been unable to change and I'm finding the whole situation really frustrating to say the least.
In my grandmother and her relatives research, we've been unable to (as of yet) find sufficient evidence to suggest that the parents and siblings of my fifteenth great grandfather: Thomas Capell I ( Thomas Capell, I ) are genuine, though his marriage to Isabella is supported, yet I'm unable to remove him from the tree. He's not the son of William.
The second error on the Capell tree is George Capell (George Capell). His marriage to "NO RELATION" and all those subsequent descendants aren't to be found anywhere in any records and I've even managed to contact a Capell relative who agrees.
It looks like the user here has mistakenly added themselves to my tree yet I'm unable to remove the connection or even contact them as they've been offline for almnost a few years now.

I apologise for being unable to tag the profiles with '@' but as the profile is collaborative, I'm unable to edit or remove or even tag my own family in my family tree. Please help, it'd be really appreciated.

I was able to tag, my bad. But I'm still unable to do all of the above.
P.S, I'm currently not a pro-Geni user.

Private - You should be able to edit both of those Profiles - since you are listed as one of the managers, you should be able to edit even more fields than most of us. BUT cutting a relationship is not the same as editing and may require a Pro Membership - definitely if it will cut the tree. Deleting a profile cannot be done if others are connected to the Tree by it.

If no one offers to help form your post above, suggest you re-post request in https://www.geni.com/discussions/156925 (ATTENTION Curators, please assist) (The other Manager may well have merged by mistake - and is just as unable to fix it himself as you are.)

Not sure what you mean by you are unable to "tag my own family in my family tree". Unclaimed profiles in your Family Tree you should be able to edit. But if they have a Claimed Profile - ie they ever joined Geni - and if they set their password - then no, you can no longer edit their profile - only they can.

Private -- i made the changes you ask for above.

Id suggest adding N.N. Place holders for the parents of Thomas, and explaining the situation in the About section, to try and stave off getting more merges.

Even with the one wife gone, George still has lost of descendants. Which dont belong there?

Hello Lois, By tagging, I'd assumed that it would highlight straight away but I'd assume wrong, my bad there as they tagged once the post was up. Thanks for the help there,. Thankyou! :)
Hello, Anne
Thankyou for removing the relationships which were incorrect. I appreciate it very much. I shall do that, I've seen "N.N." before on other profiles and I was wondering what it meant. I'll have to do that in future.
I understand, I think there may have been a second wife or I may have put the same sibling up twice, I'm going to revise and put up sources this week so there's much to get doing! I should be able to remove the other siblings but if there's any difficulty I'll be sure to leave a message!
Thankyou both! Diolch yn fawr,

The N.N. is for "nomen nescio," "I do not know the name." Old in genealogy. Many people do not like it, but it makes sense to me.

But a note in the profile, that the parentage is unknown, is also very useful.

And if you get the profiles filled out, we an Master them, and put a curators note at the top.
