listed on NSW BDM as having married Thomas Lonergan in 1849. Bridget's name was transcribed as 'mcgaubrick' https://familyhistory.bdm.nsw.gov.au/lifelink/familyhistory/search/...

Hi Josephine
That then disputes what Uncle Thomas wrote about Thomas and Bridget getting married in Ireland in 1847. I have no idea what records he used to get his information. Good to know though. I think a lot of names were transcribed incorrectly in those days. That's why there is a couple of ways to spell "Laurence".

Hi Elaine
Well assuming it is our Bridget! I have signed up to an Irish geneology site for a montth and have also trawled through existing parish records from national archives Ireland and cannot find a record of a Thomas Lonergan marrying Bridget 'anything resembling mcgoldrick' or variations of the name (I found Colrick, Goolrick and many variants)
There are many Thomas lonergans in Tipperary so it is difficult to track down. Also difficult to hone down which baptismal record for Thomas without knowing which parish in co Tipperary he was from.
Cannot find a Thomas and Bridget Lonergan on shipping manifests in the 1840s - I wonder whether they came separately? I did find a Bridget Colrick on a passenger list?
