As the supposed source of the Philemon Waters line, he would belong to Y-DNA haplogroup "R".
We have Y-DNA results from a male-line descendant of John Waters of "Waters Lotte" - and the haplogroup is "I".
QED: the Philemon Waters line does *not* have a common male ancestor with the Anne Arundel Waters family.
What we still do not know:
* What haplogroup the Lt. Edward Waters line belongs to (it should be "I").
* Whether the Lt. Edward and John lines have a Y-DNA recent ancestor (they should).
