Steve Selbrede notes that while many on-line trees show Bridget as John Parmenter's wife and the daughter of John Daveye and Mary Burgayne, there aren't any readily accessible primary sources proving those relationships. Does anyone have access to a database that provides such documentation? I do not.

Thank you!

I have primary sources stating that John Parmenter's first wife's name was Bridget, but nothing that definitively shows her maiden surname to be Daveye. If anyone wishes to have details on those primary sources, please let me know.

Hello, Julia Merrill Moores! Thanks for commenting/replying.

Yes, there are certainly at least a few of us interested in your sources. Please share when you have a chance. Since you're a manager of Bridget's profile, you can upload files directly to her profile if you'd like.

I have added two of the primary sources to Bridget, wife of John Parmenter. Other sources of information are as follows:
1. The History of Sudbury, Massachusetts, 1638-1889, by Alfred Sereno Hudson, Published by The Town of Sudbury, printed by R.H. Blodgett, Boston, 1889. A digital copy of this book can be downloaded from the Internet Archive: https://archive.org
2. New England Marriages Prior to 1700 by Clarence Almon Torrey, Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc., Baltimore 1985, page 561. Website: search.ancestry.com/search/db.aspx?dbid=3824&path=
None of these sources has a birth surname for Bridget, wife of John Parmenter.

I have seen these sources, but they are not the primary sources I was looking for. (Sorry for the late reply. I did not know this discussion existed until today.)

The existence of some secondary sources that have her name as Bridget Daveye, as well as her DOB and location suggests that at one time someone saw a birth record and marriage record that includes this info.

The Bures St Mary records are out for restoration. When they return I will ask for another search. They found nothing in their electronic/scanned info.

I have tried to track down the first instance of the mention of Bridget Daveye, without success.

If you check out my Wikitree profile for Bridget, you will see an extensive listing of all the sources I have thus far found.
