This is the second time I've seen this man given the middle initial of T. The first time was on the Find-A-Grave for his son-in-law, Daniel Washington Herring, as part of the biography, stating his wife, Elender was the daughter of John T. Sevier and great-granddaughter of Governor John Sevier.

I'm curious. Does anybody know what the T. stands for? The only other John T. Sevier that I have found is John Tinturff Sevier, born in 1831-1897, the son of Valentine "Red Fox" Sevier (1780-1854) and his wife, Mary Amanda Murray. "Red Fox" is the son of Captain. Robert Sevier.

I am well aware of the many names that are often repeated in this family, ad nauseum, and just how very confusing they (inadvertently, I'm sure) made it for their descendants to keep things straight. I have to say that Valentine, Jr. (1747-1800) did have a son, Valentine, also born in 1773, as was his nephew, son of the Governor, and they both, curiously enough, had daughters named Elizabeth "Betsy" Sevier, born in 1768. Saying all of this, it would not surprise me, were his middle name also Tinturff.

But, if anyone knows what the T. stands for, I would greatly appreciate the input. Thank you, in advance.
