Thanks Leanne, yes, that merge is fully justified. Elizabeth, Louisa and Thomas left Sydney in 1819 or 1820 on a ship under the surname Peckham and when they arrived in Port Dalrymple (Launceston) they disembarked under the name Chapman. The record is in the newspaper of the time (I have forgotten the name of the newspaper). Elizabeth married Charles Browne Hardwicke in Launceston in 1820.
