I'm William (Bill) Baker, 5th great grandson of the Rev. Andrew Baker (1749-1815)—confirmed by 2 separate Y-DNA tests with the Baker DNA Study Group several years ago. If anyone has any documentation that shows that Rev. Andrew's father was indeed Andrew Baker Sr, please contact me as soon as you can at genealogy@bakerdesign.com! I would like nothing more than to extend my line back further to England, but have been unable to do that, because I've hit a block with Rev. Andrew Baker's parents. I, too, am guessing that his father was this Andrew Baker, Sr., but I have found no proof at all of that. However if you do have documentation, please contact me at genealogy@bakerdesign.com. My family website is at bakerdesign.com/bakerhistory/. Thanks!
A cousin of mine just pointed out that John Tenneretta Baker is listed here as a brother of Rev. Andrew Baker two times; the last time being misspelled as "John Terrenta" and appearing to be a separate person. There most definitely was only one John Tenneretta Baker who was a brother of the Rev. Andrew Baker. Although I'm somehow listed here as a "manager", I don't know how to change this error. So, I'm hoping someone will correct it. Thanks!
I believe there is some incorrect information posted on this site about my 6th g-grandfather. I'm Y-DNA matched to Rev Andrew Baker 1749-1815. He is my 5th g-grandfather. However, as far as I know, his father's identity has not yet been established beyond question. By a signature on a document (maybe the only hint in existence), the most likely candidate for his father was Andrew William Baker, Sr (or Esq) 1692-1781. If this is true, then there is an error being posted in several places here that says that Andrew William Baker Sr/Esq's father was Robert James Baker 1660-1728 ("The Gunmaker"). This has been proven impossible by Y-DNA test results on several male Bakers in my family. See my Baker website at http://bakerdesign.com/bakerhistory
