Emmeline Who.. is the discussion I would like to have. I have doubts that her name is Emmeline Smith and I believe her name to be Emmeline Ley. The Emmaline on the head stone is stated to have died July 29 1922 At 63 years of age.
This puts her birth abt 1859.
Here's what I know and what I would like to follow up on
Thomas Ley Master mariner, and partial owner of the Freedom of Mevagissey married Emmaline Kymbrel and they had 3 children.
One of the children being Emmeline age 2 on 1861 census. Another was Thomas Ley age 4 on the. 1861 census.
Thomas Ley the son came to Canada and later died. Thomas Ley was a ships carpenter. My brother Doug Hall has done a lot of research on the Thomas the ships carpenter.
My grandfather John Francis Cloke attended his death in Canada and wrote on the death certificate of Thomas Ley in the space marked relation ship to deceased. He wrote: nephew.
This is a round about way of geneology but Doug and I are wanna bees.. not the real thing..
My grandfather is John Francis Cloke and his stone is at the foot of John Francis and Emmaline.
He is stating that his mother is the sister of Thomas Ley. That would
make her Emmaline Ley.
I m hoping this slim fact will open discussions
I'm also so hoping to not ruffle feathers. Doug and I are so into this part of the familly and there is more to come.
