Shmuel-Aharon Kam (Kahn / שמואל-אהרן קם (קאן, Yigal Burstein, Itai Meshulam, Itai Hermelin and Private User,

I cannot locate a project to place someone who died in support of the State of Israel.

I'm looking to place Benjamin (Beni) Shapira and Shemariahu Kopelyowitz in a project for those who died during the Israeli War of Independence.

Thanks,
Kevin

Not that I know of, but I don't know much about contemporary projects. I'm somewhat against them, considering 1) privacy issues, 2) over-saturation of this topic is Israel, and 3) the VERY small fraction of which you'll find on Geni.

If they do not already exist you could look at some more general Israel and a roll of honour for Israeli and Jewish fighters projects.

Colin Bruce Milne,

That would make sense.

Shmuel-Aharon Kam (Kahn / שמואל-אהרן קם (קאן,

Why don't you start a discussion under the Geni Israel Portal asking someone to create projects for fallen Israeli soldiers.

Kevin

There are over 23 thousand who died as IDF soldiers since 1948. And probably 95% of them are not on Geni.

Rafi Kornfeld (c),

I know that there are a lot of them.

Make the project anyways. You don't have to add them to Geni as you are just making a place for users to honour them on geni.

Kevin

Sounds like a good project to start. I'm sure once it is started people will get involved and add profiles as needed. I don't know much about IDF who have fallen but I did get to meet many young soldiers in the Israeli Airforce and Army when I went there in 2002. Just re reade the thread again and privacy issues should be considered maybe only a certain time frame should be listed. The Idea of an honor roll is nice.
