Abraham Alpert - Birth date and lineage

I put 1862 as the date because that was what was in the Jri index.
You are right about the birthday. The census of 1897 shows him as 42 so that would correlate with him being born in 1855.
I thought that David Tewel was the son of Jankiel Michel. It appeared to me that Abram named 2 of his children after his grandparents: Jankiel Michel and Dajcha Zelda. I will try to obtain some original records and look into this further.

One other thing- The name Tewel is a Yiddish version of David. I don't think that Tewel would have had a son with the same name.

Abram had so many children he would have had to go to more distant relatives to find names. And there are so many Abrams that it gets confusing. BTW, there is an error in the census listing...the father of Abram's children is listed as David.

Andi Ziegelman in Israel has done extensive research on the family. I will try to find time to contact her.
